From Masculine to Feminine

Human beings and common domestic animals have a masculine noun if they are male or a feminine one if they are female. In many cases (only for animated beings) it is possible to form the feminine gender from the masculine.
Masculine name ending in “-o” have the feminine form in “-a”, “-essa”
Masculine name ending in “-e” have the feminine form in “-a”, “-essa”, and in “e” (do not change in the feminine)
Masculine name ending in “-tore” have the feminine form in “-trice”
Most masculine name ending in “-sore” have the feminine form in “-essa”
Make feminine the following masculine nouns

studente (staudent) > (f.)
direttore (director) > (f.)
amico (friend) > (f.)
autore (author) > (f.)
