La mia città (E. Bennato)
Edoardo Bennato is one of the most admired and beloved Italian singer-songwriters. He began his music career in the early Sixties as one of the most creative and innovative musicians of his time combining blues, rock and roll, folk and even hints of opera. His first album Non Farti Cadere Le Braccia (Don’t let your harms fall) was released in 1973 and since then has been ever-present on the Italian music scene as a symbol of Italian signature style of rock music.
La mia città (My city) is a love song for Naples in which the singer clearly expresses  his anger for the terrible condition of his town by using strong words. Words that in the video clip have been recited, among the streets of Naples, by the people that every day have to live with the “munnezza” (garbage), Camorra (mafia) and bad politics.
The song is full of adjectives, even difficult ones, referring to the feminine noun città. You can use the Dictionary to find out the meaning of words you don’t know.
